Eggs in the City

August 30th, 2011

Eggs in the City is one of my new favorite places to eat in Salt Lake City. It has a charming atmosphere, delicious food, and is located on 1675 East and 1300 South. This is a group that we will be working with on the Herms Inn restaurant project in Logan.

E-Design Exterior Paint Colors

August 25th, 2011
As E-design becomes more popular I have had more clients email me for design help. One of my loyal clients emailed 10 photographs of her home with a request for consultation on exterior paint colors. All of the paint colors I recommended were from the Benjamin Moore line. I provided the client with details for each photograph but just a selected a couple for the blog to give you and idea of how great E-design can be!

Because children are an important part of every family, when designing a home I love to include a space for them to work. Creating a functional space can be as simple as adding a smaller desk area to the family office, incorporating desk space in a common area such as the kitchen or, adding a working space into the playroom.

A consistent theme with each home was a covered outdoor sitting area off the great room. I appreciated the attention to detail that went into the landscaping of these homes. The texture,  scale, and proportion of plants was so well done.

This landscaping was complete with a garden and putting green.

Not only did this home have an outdoor sitting area, but also outdoor exercise equipment!

Two of the homes had flat screen televsions in their outdoor living areas!

Street of Dreams

This weekend I am headed to Seattle for the North West Natural Street of Dreams. Imagine going to a parade of homes and just walking down the street from one house to the next instead of driving around looking for addresses. You can get a sneak peak of the tour here. Below are a few of the homes I’ll be seeing, can’t wait to see the interiors!

Tulie Bakery

August 4th, 2011

Tulie Bakery in Salt Lake City has such a great combination of modern and old architecture. They  have combined existing brick with slick contemporary windows and doors. Inside continues with a great combination of materials. I love the rustic tables paired with modern chairs.

Not only is the structure and atmosphere inspiring, it is filled with delicious desserts. I would recommend, my favorite, the chocolate bouchon.
