It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! There is nothing like a live tree to make a home feel ready for the holidays. I’ve had my eye on this charming tree and am so excited to see it come to life in my living room. Just the smell of it puts me in the holiday spirit.

Magnolia Place

The foundations have just been poured for Magnolia Place. This Italian Villa is being built in the hills of St. George, named after all the Magnolia trees that will be found in the landscaping. My client’s are currently living in London and wanted to have a European feel in the home and landscape design. The landscape will be beautiful with an olive grove, courtyard, custom pool with pavillion and even an l’orangerie.

The home has a beautiful grand entrance and many of the rooms exit to the beautiful outdoor living spaces. Although the style is very European, the building materials (stone, stucco, etc.) will be indigenous to the St. George area. I oriented the home on the lot to provide great views to old historic St. George with secondary views to Snow Mountain.

It is exciting to see things in motion. I have enjoyed designing Magnolia Place and it’s stunning landscape with these amazing clients and can’t wait to see the home come together!

If you aren’t in the process of building a home there are several ways to add impact to your existing ceiling no matter the size of your home.

In small spaces I will often add wallpaper to the ceiling for impact.

In any space, ceiling detail can create character, ambiance, and aesthetic. The style of client and type of detail work used in a space shapes the ceiling detail. The first couple photos are from homes I have designed, the next few are from ceilings I’ve appreciated on home tours.

Here at the office we have had restaurants on our minds. We just received some amazing before and after pictures of our last restaurant project Herm’s Inn. Thank you to JayDee Barr Construction for sharing your photos as well as being so great to work with on this remodel.

I love seeing the same angle in the before and after shots! If you want to read about the history and details of this project click here.

Park City Restaurant Design

There is a new restaurant opening in Park City and I have the opportunity to design the building remodel. The owners have asked that I create a rustic mine atmosphere. Many of the building materials and finishes have an earthy feel to them including a concrete bar.

Pictured are samples of the faux finish for accent and restroom walls, glass tile for wainscoting in the restrooms, wood for the table tops, stone for the hallways, roller shades for the windows, red leather for all of the booth seats as well as chair cushions, booth fabric, and rustic lighting.
Things are moving right along and the opening date is set for the beginning of December!

Fall Door Decor

Have you all recovered from the Halloween festivities? After the pass of one holiday it often feels like a race to get ready for the next. I have found that if I style my porch with the right components starting in September, then by simply changing the decorative door element I can easily transition into October and November. It saves a lot of time and much needed energy!
