Cache Valley Electric

January 29th, 2015

I designed the Cache Valley Electric Building several years ago.   I’m so grateful to be included with framing and hanging artwork as the interiors have been finished off.  Here are a few more great shots of CVE.

The conference room has a glass wall to show off the fancy electronics in the server room next door.  The  other wall of the conference room is made of eight custom wood doors all on a track.
The lobby holds two antique cars originally owned and used by CVE.
The architectural details of the hallways are beautifully lit with large skylights, sconces and high-end recessed lighting.
The lobby has an industrial feel, yet it is finished with the highest level of craftsmanship.  From the built-in display case, to the wood floors and the masonry the interior details are executed masterfully.

Self Expression Can Be As Small As A Knob

Your home should reflect who you are.  Self expression is an important step in making your house a home.  This may come in very subtle and small ways throughout your home.   I like to change a few of my standard cabinet knobs to something more fun and expressive.  I have collected several knobs that either have meaning to me or I just think are engaging.  Try picking a place or two in your home that you could add a little character with a new knob.

Best Of Houzz 2015

January 23rd, 2015

Thank you to all our amazing clients for taking the time to write reviews for us on Houzz!  I won the Best Of Houzz 2015 service award due to our clients high satisfaction ratings!

We had Robert gives some design ideas and choices on a remodel of our home. It turned out wonderful. He had fabulous ideas to help update and spruce up our main floor living area.

We hired Robert several years after seeing a beautiful homeshow home that he had decorated in SLC and several other homes he had designed and decorated. We built a new home on a site after taking down an older home and Robert was involved in the project from day one. Some of the aspects that I am most happy with are the way that Robert placed the new house on the site. It takes advantage of the views and sunlight beautifully. The design of the home is lovely and is an interesting combination of traditional with an updated flair that is fresh and innovative. The level of detail is incredible and Robert is very particular and exacting in having things done correctly. If something was not right he delt directly with the problem and did not put the homeowner in the middle. He was great at being available to answer questions and getting back with us when we couldn’t reach him. It was a pleasure to work with Robert and his staff at RGM.

We have engaged Robert a couple of times for our home and remodel jobs. After each experience we had a near perfect job. The feel and design of Robert is unique and well reflects our personal tastes and feeling of our family and home. There were several WOW touches to his designs that put exclamation points !!! on our home and individual rooms. Robert was thoughtful and considerate to our input and steered us in the right direction. So very creative with such amazing attention to details.

From the first phone call I made to Robert McArthur Studios, to current on going projects, Robert and his staff are exceptionally professional. They are talented, client orientated, and experienced. Robert’s experience is what will make your project a pleasure versus a nightmare. His scope is what sets him apart from other firms. He is knowledgeable in all facets of construction and interior design. If you have a large or small project, you have found your solution with Robert McArthur Studios.

What is your favorite phrase?

I like to add phrases and sayings through my home that make me smile. I have often had sayings painted right onto the walls and other times incorporated signs and plaques to deliver a little message as you move throughout your day.  These are some of my favorite costume touches.

This year I plan to offer tips on how to make a house a home.  I believe your living space should reflect who you are.  I like for my spaces to be highly personalized.  Although I wish for everyone to be able to enjoy the wonderful process of having a custom house plan designed for them, I know it is not a reality.  So, I have a lot of tips that may be applied to almost any living situation.

Fame your children’s or family members’ art work.  You will find you enjoy looking at your families’ creations as much as your most precious works of art.  My nieces and nephews have supplied me with a plethora of wonderful pieces.  The warmth of family and childhood innocence emanates from these installations.
