This weekend I am headed to the Philharmonic home tour in Dana Point California as well as the Venice Garden & Home tour to get inspired by the newest building and design trends! It is among a few of the home tours I try to make it to annually including West Week in California and the Portland Street of Dreams.
As I travel to each tour I can’t help but notice one of the things that inspires me the most is the beauty in nature. It is true design! These are a few inspiring pictures from my most recent travels.

Sunset at Crystal Cove

The tangerine wasn't only inside the homes at West Week!

I love to make a space feel as much like home as I can. I was adding some finishing touches to Bridgeport to give it more of a custom feel and thought I would share a bold DIY project. I had our painter paint a “rug” right onto the dining room floor.

It’s a daring move but as easy as measure, tape, paint!!

I am also having the ceiling wallpapered to add dimension to the space and personalize the home.

Congratulations!

Bountiful had a crazy windstorm over the weekend with winds up to 100 MPH around Northern Davis county. Our studio sustained some damage and power outage for a couple days but we were lucky it wasn’t more extreme. It was so amazing to see the community come together and cleanup.

The pictures above are of our studio. The picture to the right was taken on the same block as our studio! We are so lucky we didn’t have any large trees.

Congratulations!

The UDLA Reception held last night was an exceptional event. We were honored to have UDLA members, Excellence in Design award recipients, Margret Shuff owner of Utah Style and Design, a representative from the clipper, and other community members present. Eatery 1025 was an ideal venue and provided us with delicious food. Among those we honored was Amy Wylie from the Refugee Services who helped us arrange details for our Refugee Housing Project. Thank you to all who attended and helped make this event a huge success!

Amy Wylie, with her husband, accepts her UDLA award.
