DuMc Place is located just off Main Street in Bountiful and captures views of the mountains to the east, the lake to the west, and great city scenery. This unit has the feel of a typical downtown loft with its open spaces. The project was created around the idea of designing as infill building in an urban environment. The lots were narrow and deep so I selected the shotgun style architecture you will see in each unit. It allowed me to create public, semi public and private spaces as I went deep into the lot. I worked with the courtyard concept to break up those spaces so that none of the conditioned spaces overlapped. The courtyard and garages are the only touching spaces in each of the three homes in this triplex (therefore, no sound transmission).
