Eco House Exterior Pictures

October 23rd, 2013

I was invited to Springdale to visit a home I designed at the mouth of Zions Canyon. The home owner was so gracious to welcome myself and the team that helped build this incredible place!

My favorite cabinet maker Scott Adams, myself, gracious homeowner, and the talented contractor & his wife.

The home owner gave me the freedom with this home to understand and best utilize the site and its environment. I was able to take advantage of the beautiful location by creating courtyards and outdoor living spaces with incredible views along with angled walls, angled ceilings and step detail to mimic nature. I wanted the roof lines to mimic the lines of the cliffs all around. The house itself is positioned on the lot to take into account large rocks, trees and a natural wash. To allow the exterior of the home to blend into the natural surroundings I used limestone plaster and stone. I wanted to create a feeling that the house had always been there- like a great ruin that was discovered and built around.
