Clocks with Character

January 15th, 2013

A few years ago while I was in Brazil shopping in Itu, a central area for antiques, I found an amazing clock. Lucky for me, it was small enough to take home!
I had it restored in Brazil and was fortunate to have a friend who was moving back to the states bring it home with his belongings. It’s new home is in the conference room of our Bountiful Studio. I love the details on it from the handmade pendulum to the unique face. And I am a believer that if you have to wind it, it has more personality (probably because it reminds me of my grandmother McArthur winding her clocks).
I love clocks, everything from the ticking to the intriguing details on the face. While I was in Brazil working on the São Paulo temple a few years ago I found a fantastic clock for the lobby. I love the idea of a peaceful pendulum swinging. When choosing a clock for your home, choose one with character!

I’ll be spending the next two weeks in Brazil doing some work for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I can’t wait to see what treasures I’ll find!
